Modding your PSP allows you to play back-up games on your memory stick.
No UMD's are required in your UMD slot to play games, which allows you to use less battery, save your UMD laser, and quicker loading on the games.
All other features of your PSP will work as an unmodded PSP, Adhoc play(psp to psp), your Web browser(WiFi internet).
I have tested and approve of the Custom Firmware, 3.80M33-5, which has worked out some bugs of the previous firmware, 3.71M33-4. All the latest ISO's(games) that are out, are able to play, including all other features.
There is a new update firmware 3.90M33 which is still being tested for bugs and other issues. There are some issues with ISO's not reading. Until most of the bugs and issues are worked out, I don't suggest upgrading to this firmware yet.
If you wish the 3.90M33 can be installed.
Modding takes about 10 mins, and is done while you wait.
There is no opening, or tampering of the PSP with the Mod, I only flash the PSP, which is TOTALLY SAFE, and no chance of bricking!
The Mod can also be reversed, by bringing your PSP back to Official Firmware.
I also can REVIVE "bricked" PSP's. "Bricking" means that your PSP seems to turn on with just a black screen, but eventually shuts down.
"Bricking" usually happens when a Mod/Downgrade is not done properly, or when trying to install Themes/Backgrounds.
I have been modding PSP's for almost 2 years. In those 2 years I've modded over 200 psp's successfully! All firmware installed is tested by me, to make sure of full capabilities.
