The Opportunity…
We currently have a very exciting opportunity in our Underwriting department for the right individual looking to start a rewarding career in the insurance industry. Reporting to the Manager, Underwriting, the Underwriting Technical Assistant (UTA) assists the commercial underwriters with the processing of new and existing customer service requests, as well as with the maintenance of accurate customer information records.
In this role, you will be responsible for a wide variety of administrative support duties relating to renewal and new fleet policies. You will have the opportunity to work closely with underwriters and develop your knowledge of insurance practices and procedures. As a UTA, you will also have the chance to work with our brokers and insureds, providing strong customer service and further increasing your exposure to the many sides of insurance. We are looking for…
The ideal candidate will possess: a post-secondary education and/or equivalent experience; CIP designation, working towards the CIP or willing to participate in the program; excellent time management and organizational skills; a proven ability to produce accurate and error-free work; and strong verbal and written communication skills. In addition, we are looking for someone who is able to multi-task effectively and enjoys working in a fast-paced environment.
