The Works Art and Design Festival Volunteer
Love Edmonton summer festivals? Want to get more involved? The Works Art & Design Festival wants you! 13 days, JUNE 20 to JULY 2, of visual art, live music, and free fun at Sir Winston Churchill Square await you! The festival, the most unique, free event of its kind in North America, boosts Edmonton’s energy and sparks MIND ALTERING imagination by exhibiting design, new media technology, and traditional visual art in unconventional urban spaces. Volunteers get to make their own schedule according to when they are available and get to choose what kind of volunteering they want to do: from being an exhibit attendant to working in the beverage gardens to teaching children how to make fun art, 15 different positions are available! Volunteering comes with many perks such as supporting and learning more about Edmonton and international visual art, meeting interesting and enthusiastic people, adding to your volunteer experience, receiving free swag, attending the wrap up party, and generally having a great time in the summer!

THE BABIES HAVE ARRIVED SAFE AND SOUND! Images
I am proud to announce the arrival of 4 beautiful purebred Jack Russell Terriers. They were born on May, 7, 2008 and are all healthy and happy. There is 3 boys and 1 girl. One of the boys is tri-colored and the rest are tan and white. This is her second litter and I have both parents available to veiw on site. Some pups from her first litter have gone off to do flyball and agility. One is also working with the elderly and the handicaped. They will be well socialized with kids and other animals. We are looking for individuals who are highly motivated, enjoy physical activity, travel and working outdoors for the position of Tower Rigger, experienced or entry level.
<p>Tower Riggers will work on a crew, performing the installation of communication towers. They will perform general ground procedures associated with the installation and work with various antenna and transmission lines. The Tower Rigger will work on communication towers incorporating proper use of personal safety equipment. </p>
<p>Responsibilities:</p>
</p>• Ensure proper inspection and use of personal safety equipment.
• Set up anchors for the guy wires and have them ready to pull the guys up to tension.
• Perform general ground procedures, such as assembly of towers.
• Install various antenna and transmission line systems.
• Install various ancillary items on the towers.
• Safely operate quick cut saws, drills and other electrical and hand tools used on site.
• Any additional activities as required for the successful completion of the project.</p>
</p>Qualifications:</p>
<p>• Must be comfortable working at heights.
• Must be willing to travel.
• Heavy lifting, manual dexterity and proficient use of installation tools are required.
• Valid driver’s license is an asset.
• Successful completion of the First Aid course and WHMIS is an asset.
• Familiarity and experience with tower erection, antenna and transmission line systems is an asset.
• Construction experience is an asset.</p>
